TRANSPORT SYSTEM:

 

 

KOCHI CITY TRAM SYSTEM (DENSHA):

The Densha service is a frequent and easy-to-use transport system that runs North-South from Kochi Train Station to Sanbashi Dori, and East-West from Gomen to Ino. Take a ticket as you enter from the back door and then pay the amount shown by the numbers on the board at the front of the tram that corresponds to your ticket number. Pay using the machine next to the driver and alight via the front door. Please refer to the map below for station and fare details:

 

 

 

 

KOCHI CITY BUS SYSTEM:

The bus system covers most areas of Kochi City and the surrounding areas but it is complicated and does not use numbered routes, but merely states (in Japanese) the destination on the front of each bus. The ticket system is the same as that of the tram (see above). For a guide to the system, see the map below:

 

 

 

 

JR SHIKOKU TRAINS:

If you are going further afield in Kochi Prefecture or Shikoku, you may wish to use the train system. These trains also connect to the mainline Shinkansen and Express services on Honshu. See the map below for more details:

 

 

 

 

DOMESTIC FLIGHTS:

There are domestic flights from Kochi Ryoma Airport to Tokyo Haneda, Osaka Itami and Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Miyazaki and Naha. See the table below for outgoing and incoming flight times:
